FAQs

What do I have to bring for a tour with you?

You like to test your physical and mental limits.
You don't mind the inconveniences if the experience is worth it.
You like to live new experiences that make you feel alive.
Your work life is intense, but even more so is your desire to break away from routine.

My skiing skills are not the best/I have no experience. Can I come?

People have come with us who have never been on skis before and they have adapted very well. It is not about going down the hills, but rather “walking” through the snow. On the first day we will go on a training ride to adapt to the equipment, learn the technique and set up the right equipment for you. We are sure that you will adapt without any problem.

What tempartures could we reach during the tour?

The temperature ranges from -10ºC to -30ºC, although it can occasionally exceed this. We will equip you with the best equipment available for this type of temperature, both during the day and at night. We will teach you techniques to warm yourself up independently. You will not be in any danger.

What dangers might I encounter during the Expedition and Andventures

The expeditions and adventures has been designed to be carried out in absolute safety, however we will be in wild territory. Some dangers to which we could be exposed would be extreme cold, polar storms or polar bears (Svalbard and Greenland destination). Don't forget that you are going with people who are experienced in these areas and capable of foreseeing or saving any of these situations. We know what we are doing and take care of you.

GUIDE: FROM A TO Z

Going on an expedition brings a lot of questions. And that’s a good thing! The more, the better. We prefer to answer your questions directly, so feel free to reach out anytime. We’re a small team and love chatting with everyone. This page will keep evolving as we update the site, but here are a few helpful tips for now.

CHOOSING A TRIP

Picking the right trip can be tough. To make sure you get the most out of it, aim for something that pushes your comfort zone a little. But it’s important that the trip really excites you. Think it over, do some research, and make sure it’s something you truly want. Because it’ll be more work than you expect, but it’ll be worth it!

SIGNING UP

Signing up is the big step. The sooner you do, the more time you have to prepare—physically, mentally, and logistically. It also increases your chances of a successful trip and a memorable experience. Plus, tell someone! Sharing your plans makes the whole thing more exciting.

THE DEPOSIT

The next important step is paying the deposit. This non-refundable payment secures your spot on the team and is the first real commitment. It helps us start planning, as we begin to cover costs, and the earlier you pay, the smoother things go for everyone.

TRAINING AND PREPARATION

Training is key. You’ll need to build up your physical endurance and mental focus. Follow our advice, and we’ll work on a plan together. Standard workouts like cycling or going to the gym might not be enough for some expeditions (like pulling a sled across the poles). If that’s the case, we’ll have you doing specific training, like pulling tires. Expect to spend many hours training, but we’ll help you prepare!

GEAR AND EQUIPMENT

We provide most of the gear you’ll need, including everything from thermal layers (except your underwear!) to high-quality equipment to keep you warm, dry, and comfortable. We’ll guide you through picking the right sizes, and we’ll even have video calls to walk you through the gear and how to use it. Of course, if you have your own equipment, feel free to ask if it’s suitable.

FINAL PAYMENT

This is a big one! The final payment is crucial and needs to be made on time, as we have significant upfront costs. If the payment is late, it could affect the trip preparations, so it’s important to stick to the deadlines.

FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION

You’ll be responsible for booking your flights and accommodation. We’ll give you advice, but you decide what works best for you. Some participants like to arrive early and relax for a few days before the trip starts. We’ll let you know where we’re staying, which is usually convenient for logistics.

FOOD, ALLERGIES AND MEDICAL NEEDS

If you have food allergies, intolerances, or strong preferences, it’s important to let us know. While we aim to provide good, nutritious meals on our trips, we may ask you to help organize your own food if needed. We want to make sure you stay healthy and strong throughout the expedition.

COMMUNICATION WITH THE GUIDE

Once the trip is confirmed, we’ll set up a WhatsApp group for easy communication. On the trip itself, we try to limit contact with home to stay focused. However, friends and family are welcome to check in with us, and we’ll keep them updated. We’ll also handle any special celebrations during the expedition if needed, but make sure you decide what’s important to share beforehand.

PRE-TRIP MEETINGS

We’ll have video calls before the trip where you’ll meet the team and see how the preparations are going. These calls cover topics like daily distances, food, rest days, and more. Some meetings are quick, while others might last longer (sometimes with a glass of wine in hand!). It’s all part of the preparation.

INSURANCE

This is critical. While we take care of the expedition itself, you’ll need travel insurance that covers the specific adventure you’re embarking on. Make sure your policy includes medical evacuation if needed, as we can’t be responsible for personal medical issues. We can suggest providers if you’re having trouble finding the right coverage. If you want cancellation insurance, look into it early, as it can be tricky to find for high-cost trips.

MEETING UP - READY TO GO!

We’ll have a few video calls before departure where you can meet the team and get a behind-the-scenes look at our preparations. These calls are where we go over important details like daily distances, food, sleeping arrangements, and any other questions you might have. The calls can be short or run long, especially if we’re enjoying a glass of wine together – but it’s all part of the fun and preparation!
